Gearbox designer for 3D printing

Turn any fast motor into a slow, high-torque actuator. Design a cycloidal drive, a compound gear train, a planetary or a worm gearbox for your motor, check its strength, and download print-ready STL, STEP and Fusion 360 files.

Pick a gearbox

Cycloidal drive

10:1 to 120:1 in one compact, coaxial stage. The best torque for its size and very shock-tolerant.

Design one →

Compound gear train

Stacked spur-gear stages on fixed axles. Simple to print and assemble, easy to understand, any ratio.

Design one →

Epicyclic (planetary)

Coaxial planetary stages, or a split-ring drive for extreme ratios up to 1000:1 and beyond.

Design one →

Worm gearbox

A worm on the motor drives a wheel at 90°: 10:1 to 80:1 in one quiet stage, often self-locking.

Why cycloidal?

Huge reduction in one stage

10:1 to 120:1 with a single disc — no stack of gear stages.

Best torque density

Many pins share the load at once, so it tolerates shocks far better than spur gears.

Built for printing

Tune the clearance to your printer, then export STL, STEP or a Fusion 360 script.

How it works

  1. 1Pick your motor (NEMA 17/23/34 or custom shaft and bolt pattern).
  2. 2Set the ratio and size — the disc profile updates live in 2D and 3D.
  3. 3Check the strength verdict, fix any red flags, then download the complete kit.

All four designers include a strength checker from PLA to steel, ball bearings, a bill of materials, and STEP and Fusion 360 export.
